Location: 75 km SW of Timmins, Ontario

  • The property lies within close proximity to the DPFZ or a subsidiary splay off of it. Structural trends with an east west azimuth course through the northern portion of the Township.
 
 Regional Exploration and Production:
 The property is strategically located along the western extension of the Destor Porcupine Fault Zone (DPFZ). The property lies approximately 78 kilometers southwest of the ton of Timmins which produced approximately 67 million ounces of gold.
 
 Other Local Exploration:
 Abitibi Mining's land position lies approximately 24 km on strike and to the west of the former producer the Joburke Mine which produced 302,561 tons of ore yielding 28,440 ounces of gold. Neighbours to the northeast of Abitibi include Lakeshore Gold and a number of junior exploration companies active in the area such as Melkior Resources, Nebu Resources, RTX Minerals, Temex Resources and Explor Resources. The property adjoins a significant land position to the east of Zinccorp Resources.
 
 Property Geology:
 DPFZ -- Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone. The property is predominantly underlain with mafic metavolcanics and intercalated sediments comprised of greywackes and siltstones. A narrow suite of ultramafics crosscuts the north part of the property. Some drilling was done in 1964 in the central portion of the property to test two east-west trending conductors. The drilling intersected narrow graphitic horizons within andesites. Minor chalcopyrite and sphalerite were encountered but there were no significant values. The target is believed to be VMS style mineralization.
